Living Out Your Golden Years Should Be Gold

Assisted Living Cost Camarillo

Mom can no longer live alone but wants to keep her independence. Dad is still active but needs help with washing his clothes and making meals. If you or a loved one are experiencing a decline in ability, an assisted living facility may be the answer.

Retirement years should be full of relaxing, enjoyable days. For some seniors, though, the golden years can be difficult as they need help with day-to-day living or just simply need companionship. Assisted living homes can provide the attention necessary as well as the social aspect that could be missing.

Though the assisted living cost in Camarillo can be high, so are the benefits. Many luxury communities offer art, education and entertainment. Residents can choose from an entire calendar of projects and recreational brain-stimulating opportunities. They may have an actual movie theater, complete with a giant screen, movie theater seating and all the popcorn you want. Old movies are shown to remind and kick the memory portion of the brain into action. Today it may be a talented guitar singer and tomorrow a knitting class but regardless, fun will be had by all.

If you are hungry, you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared in a restaurant style dining room with multiple choices. Some assisted living companies even offer 24/7 snack stations if you need something in between posted meal times. Higher-end facilities may employ a talented chef to create delicious, palate-tempting foods that will please the pickiest eaters. If you don’t feel up to eating in the dining area, they offer room service.

Residing in an assisted living facility is much like a hotel – beautiful, clean apartments, some with kitchenettes and accessible bathroom features. Services include laundry, housekeeping and personal care when necessary. Pets are not only allowed but encouraged – because who doesn’t feel better with a dedicated dog or cat on your lap. The grounds are usually well-landscaped with areas to sit and enjoy the day with family or friends. Need a haircut? Many times there is a full-service beauty salon on premise.

Although all of these services and perks are nice, all assisted living communities should have one thing in common. Their goal should always be to create a safe, clean atmosphere to provide the care needed for the elderly and/or disabled. The cost may vary but this remains the same – making your loved one comfortable and happy is the priority. Sometimes the place that is ideal for your loved one isn’t the location that has the most amenities but the place that they can call “home”.
